ISRAEL'S AT FAULT?

Like many of you, I got on my computer this morning and saw big bold letters proclaiming:
ISRAEL BOMBS GAZA TO AVENGE HAMAS ROCKET FIRE
Immediately, I was thinking, “Gee, why is Israel bombing Gaza when they are just ‘firing’ a few ‘makeshift’ rockets?”

“Rockets” and “bombs” seem to be worlds apart?

Of course, I did read that over a million Israelis are in “bomb” shelters, because approximately one rocket per minute is being fired on the civilian areas of their country. Yes, you read that correctly – NOT “rocket shelters”, “BOMB shelters”. So I guess those “rockets” can do some damage!

In fact, since the beginning of 2014 more than 450 rockets have been fired on Israel from Gaza, endangering 3.5 million Israeli citizens. That is 40% of the population of the nation!
So, this isn’t just a few teenage pranksters lighting off high tech Molotov cocktails into Israel’s airspace!

This is 240 rockets fired just in the past month, 100 yesterday alone!

So….okay, Israel bombs Gaza in response. Does Israel warn the  leadership in Gaza ahead of time? Or just bomb the place in “retaliation”?
The Arabic daily, Al-Hayat, reported that Israel warned Hamas and Islamic Jihad through Egypt on Monday that if rocket fire persists, the IDF will respond strongly:
Israel will strike Gaza with a heavy hand if the two movements don’t accept a truce, a senior Egyptian official told representatives from the two groups.
The purpose of this military operation is to put an end to the rockets being fired from Gaza into Israel. Israel attacked 50 targets, including rocket launching systems, buried rocket launchers, tunnels, training camps, weapons storage sites and the homes of Hamas terrorists.

In case this still does not make sense to you, imagine you live in Miami, Florida and the Cubans are firing rockets on your neighborhood, sometimes up to one a minute…….
How would that affect you?

How do families cope?
There is a ban on gatherings of over 300 within a 40km radius of the Gaza Strip.
There will be no summer camps, kindergartens, or special education facilities open in this area.
Exams are postponed at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and other college campuses.
If this seems “trivial” to you, imagine you have only 15 seconds to get to a BOMB shelter when the alert siren is blasted in your neighborhood…..
Just imagine……..

For those Israelis who made it safely to bomb shelters yesterday, they woke up this morning to the voice of the President of the United States reminding them that President Abbas is a partner committed to a 2-state solution, and cooperation with Israel.
He may not be aware that president Abbas is now in partnership with Hamas, the one firing rockets on Israel’s civilians!

According to Former Israeli national security adviser Yaakov Amidror, Hamas currently possesses 10,000 rockets and mortars which include long range missiles such as the Fajr-5. Hamas does NOT aim these at military targets in Israel as you saw in the video!

They aim these deadly weapons at civilian targets, children, homes, schools and markets, populated areas.
Yesterday, sixteen missiles landed in open areas near Beersheba, with a total of 80 rockets slamming into southern Israel throughout the day and night.
Hamas was claiming revenge for what it “claims” was Israel’s deadliest attacks that killed seven Palestinian militants Monday.
HOWEVER, a senior IDF military source says the seven men did NOT die as a result of an Israeli air strike! They died from explosives they planted in an underground assault tunnel aimed at an IDF target. The army had found the tunnel a few days earlier. For reasons, that are unclear, Hamas decided to handle the explosives, they were bombs, that were in the tunnel ready to go off against military targets. The explosives detonated in the tunnel, killing the seven Palestinians.
Other lies are flooding social media this week.
BBC (which is not known as a ‘friend of Israel”) has reported that many of the photos circulating as being from Gaza, are from years past. Some are even from Iraq and Syria in 2009!
BBC reported: “Graphic images are being shared on social media to show how people have been affected by the renewed tensions between Israel and Palestinians.” However, they are not from this conflict!

The hashtag, #GazaUnderAttack has received 375,000 retweets in 8 days! Many of the images used are NOT from this current situation.
So how do Israelis cope with murder of their innocent teens, an endless barrage of rockets fired on them and false stories about them in the media?
Well, King Solomon was said in God’s word to be the wisest man on earth.
This is what he says about Israel’s difficulties:

When a prayer or plea is made by any of your people Israel –each one aware of his afflictions and pains, and spreading out his hands toward this temple – then hear from heaven,  your dwelling place. Forgive and deal with each man according to all he does, since you know his heart (for you alone know the hearts of men), so that they will fear you and walk in your ways all the time they live in the land you gave our fathers. 2 Chronicles 6:29-31
And the prophet Joel says:
 And Afterwards,

I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
Even on my servants, both men and women,

I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
I will show wonders in the heavens

    and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
The sun will be turned to darkness
    and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
 And everyone who calls
    on the name of the Lord will be saved;
for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
    there will be deliverance,
    as the Lord has said,
even among the survivors
    whom the Lord calls.
